Kurt Scott President and CEO

Kurt Scott is the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KaMMCO Health Solutions, Inc. (KHS). He is also the President and CEO of Kansas Medical Mutual Insurance Company (KaMMCO), KaMMCO Casualty Company, Inc., and KaMMCO Foundation, Inc. KaMMCO, endorsed by the Kansas Medical Society and Kansas Hospital Association, is the leading medical professional liability insurance company in Kansas.

Prior to joining KaMMCO, Mr. Scott served as Chief Examiner of the Kansas Insurance Department. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a major in Accounting, from Kansas State University. Among other directorships, Mr. Scott also serves on the Board of Directors of the PIAA, the insurance trade association representing medical professional liability companies.

Jerry Slaughter Executive Vice President
KHS Board Secretary/Treasurer

A native of Salina, Kansas, Mr. Slaughter is a graduate of the University of Kansas. In 1973, he joined the Kansas Medical Society and two years later became the association’s executive director, his current position. The Kansas Medical Society membership is comprised of over 4,000 physicians, representing all specialties.

Mr. Slaughter also serves as Executive Vice President of KaMMCO, the physician-owned medical professional liability insurance company started by KMS in 1989; and as Board Secretary/Treasurer of KHS.

Craig Concannon, MD KHS Board Chair

Born in Satanta, Kansas, Dr. Craig Concannon graduated in 1984 from the University of Kansas School of Medicine – Wichita. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Kansas and affiliated hospitals in Wichita, Kansas. Dr. Concannon is a board certified internal medicine physician.

Dr. Concannon’s involvement in organized medicine spans local, regional, state and national levels. He became a member of the Kansas Medical Society (KMS) in 1984, and has served on various KMS and KaMMCO board committees and task forces. Dr. Concannon has also served as President of the Kansas Society of Internal Medicine, Chairman of the Medical Services Committee for the American Society of Internal Medicine, and served on the Governor’s Counsel for the Kansas Chapter of the American College of Physicians amongst others.

Joe Davison, MD KHS Board

Born in Beaver, Oklahoma, Dr. Joe Davison graduated in 1981 from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed his residency in family medicine at St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Dr. Davison is a board certified family physician and received his fellowship from the American Board of Family Medicine in 1985.

Dr. Davison’s involvement in organized medicine spans at local, regional and state levels. He began with the Medical Society of Sedgwick County, serving as a board member, and was elected President in 2003 and continued with board service for both KMS and KaMMCO. Dr. Davison's participation on KMS’s medical liability and health information technology task forces, the Governor’s task forces on Health Information Technology, Prescription Monitoring Program and the Kansas Health Quality Coalition Steering Committee has prepared him well for the issues related to healthcare reform.

Laura McCrary, Ed.D KHS Senior Vice President

Dr. Laura McCrary is the Senior Vice President of KaMMCO Health Solutions, Inc. (KHS) and Executive Director of the Kansas Health Information Network, Inc. (KHIN).

Dr. McCrary completed post-doctoral work at Kansas University; a Doctorate of Education from Kansas State University and MS degrees in the areas of Mental Illness and Learning Disabilities from Kansas State University. She is an adjunct professor at Rockhurst University-Helzberg School of Management and teaches courses in Health Information Technology and Quality. Dr. McCrary is a member of the National Policy Steering Committee for eHealth Initiative and an Advisory Board member for eHealth Exchange/Carequality.

Catherine Walberg, JD KHS Vice President and General Counsel

Catherine Walberg, J.D., is General Counsel/Senior Vice President for Kansas Medical Mutual Insurance Company (KaMMCO) and KaMMCO Health Solutions, Inc. She is a licensed attorney in Kansas, Missouri, and Washington. In addition to her service to KaMMCO, Ms. Walberg has been an active speaker and writer on current insurance and health law topics, including HITECH/HIPAA. She is currently a member of the Physicians Insurers of America’s (PIAA) Corporate Counsel Section, having served as the Section President in past years. She also serves on the PIAA Regulatory Affairs Committee. She is a member of the Kansas Bar Association and served previously as the President of Insurance Committee of the Kansas Bar Association. Ms. Walberg also is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) and serves on the ACC Information Governance and Health Law Committees.

Prior to KaMMCO, Ms. Walberg was a partner in a Topeka-based law firm, where she specialized in litigation and health law. Ms. Walberg also served as the Deputy Secretary for the Kansas Department on Aging. Ms. Walberg recently served on the Policy Committee of the Kansas Health Information Exchange, Inc., a not-for-profit entity charged with facilitating the secure, electronic, exchange among health care providers of patients’ protected health information. She is also a member of the Topeka Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the Association of Corporate Counsel.

David Gossett Regional Director, Carolina eHealth Network

David Gossett is a regional director for the Carolina eHealth Network, and has worked in the healthcare information technology arena for more than 20 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from the University of Georgia, Athens, GA, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, from Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA. He has a wealth of experience in working with the healthcare teams to help identify, create and drive health system specific solutions that deliver significant improvement through increased revenues, margins and workplace productivity.

Jody Denson Director of Provider Solutions

Jody Denson is the Director of Provider Solutions at KaMMCO Health Solutions. Jody has over eighteen years of experience in the health care field with an emphasis in working with safety net providers and community mental health centers. Jody is a certified Project Management Professional and holds a BS in Psychology and a Master's of Public Administration both from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. She is an adjunct professor at Johnson County Community College and teaches courses in Health Information Technology.

Andy Grittman Vice President and Chief Information Officer

As the Chief Technology Officer for KaMMCO Health Solutions, Inc. (KHS); Andy Grittman researches, designs and implements solutions to collect, protect, and process data from health information exchanges and securely deliver the reports and dashboards based on that data. Since 2006 Mr. Grittman has also served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Kansas Medical Mutual Insurance Company (KaMMCO) after joining the company in 1996. He is the President of the Oasis Customer Group Board of Directors and chair of the technology subsection for the PIAA Technology, Human Resources and Finance (THRF) section. Mr. Grittman graduated from Washburn University and proudly served in the United States Army.

Lisa Ignoto Vice President of Marketing and Business Development

As the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Ms. Ignoto works with both internal and external clients to successfully align and lead efforts in the areas of strategic business development, marketing and communications. In 2005, Ms. Ignoto came to KaMMCO after serving as the Director of Communications for Goodyear-Topeka for five years and her KaMMCO role expanded to include the KaMMCO Health Solutions subsidiary in 2014. Ms. Ignoto earned her Bachelor of Science degree from FHSU and is working towards a Masters in Leadership Studies.

Cardelia Reid, RN MSN, MBA Regional Director, HealtheParadigm

Cardelia Reid has worked as a Consultant in Healthcare for over 16 years. She is a Registered Nurse with a Masters in Nursing Informatics from Case Western Reserve University and Executive MBA from Emory University. She has worked with multiple EMR vendors, healthcare organizations and insurance companies in implementation and strategy.

Eric Thompson Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics

Eric Thompson, MBA, is Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics at KaMMCO Health Solutions, Inc. (KHS). He generates and automates reports run on the databases behind the KHIN health information exchange, develops code to handle requests from statistical modeling to basic data extracts, coordinates with vendors and associates to provide high-quality deliverables.

Prior to joining KHS, Mr. Thompson completed his MBA at Rockhurst University-Helzberg School of Management and provided executive level dashboard and reporting services for employer managed health plans including clinic, claims and financial data across several clinics and hospitals. Mr. Thompson is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management and the Open Source Electronics Health Record Alliance.
